Zhuhai United Laboratories Co., Ltd.

Secondary RO + EDI ultrapure water system for office, workshop, and cafeteria direct drinking water; produces ultrapure water for laboratories (resistivity > 18.2 MΩ) and potable water.
Project Background
Zhuhia Federal Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a large-scale comprehensive pharmaceutical enterprise located in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. The pharmaceutical industry has extremely strict water quality requirements: ultra-pure water is needed for laboratory analysis and drug compounding, while safe drinking water must be supplied to office areas and production workshops.
Project Challenges
Pharmaceutical companies have dual water needs: laboratories require ultrapure water with resistivity >18.2 MΩ·cm for precise analysis and drug development, while office areas, workshops, and cafeterias need safe, healthy drinking water. Both systems must operate cohesively within the same facility and comply with GMP regulations.
Solutions
Baiyuan Water Industry designed two independent yet complementary water treatment systems for Federal Pharmaceutical. The ultrapure water system uses a "two-stage RO + EDI" process to ensure stable product water resistivity of over 18.2 MΩ, while the drinking water system employs multi-stage filtration combined with UV disinfection to guarantee drinking water safety. Both systems share a common raw water pretreatment section, reducing construction and operating costs.
Use Device
Ultra-pure Water System: Multi-media Filter, Activated Carbon Filter, Softener, Single-stage RO Unit, Double-stage RO Unit, EDI Module, Polishing Mixed Bed, Terminal Filter. Drinking Water System: PP Cotton Filter, Activated Carbon Filter, RO Membrane, UV Sterilizer, Ozone Generator.
Outcomes & Benefits
- Ultra-pure water resistivity remains stable above 18.2 MΩ, meeting the requirements for precise laboratory analysis.
- The direct drinking water system covers the office area, workshop, and cafeteria to ensure employee safety.
- Compliant with GMP standards and approved by the drug regulatory authority.
- Fully automated operation with minimal manual intervention to reduce maintenance costs.
- Long-term stable water quality ensures pharmaceutical production standards.
